Bnai Moshe Starts Work on
New School Building; Move
Praised by Local Leaders

Impressive ceremonies, in the
auditorium of the Bnai Moshe
Synagogue and afterwards on
its adjoining lot, marked the in-
auguration of building activities
for the erection of the congre-
gation's school building.
A large audience of Bnai
Moshe members and friends and
representatives of the United
Hebrew Schools, the synagogue's
partner in the planned school
building, participated • in the
ceremonies.

The first sod was turned by
Rabbi Moses Lehrman, who
delivered the keynote address
in the synagogue; Theodore
Cur ti s, the congregation's
president; B ern a r d Isaacs,
superintendent of the schools;
Harry Cohen, one of the pio-
neer workers for the schools;
Albert Elazar, associate super-
intendent of the schools, and
Mrs. Julius Hersh, president
of the Bnai Moshe Sisterhood.

that the Bnai Moshe and
United Hebrew Schools "shid-
duch" will be a signal for
great cultural achievements
in the community.

Addresses were delivered by
Mrs. Hersh, Clifford Miller, pres-
ident of the Junior Congrega-
tion, Mr. Curtis, Mr. Elazar and
Philip Slomovitz.
Mr. Curth, acclaiming the
event in behalf of the congre-
gation, announced that the lot
adjoining the synagogue, on
which the new school is to be
erected, was donated by Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Grosberg. He re-
vealed that the cost of the new
building will be $125,000.
Telegrams and other messages
were read from Abe Kasle, pres-
ident of the United Hebrew
Schools; Rabbi Moses Fischer,
who was unable to attend due
to illness; Isidore Sobeloff, ex-
ecutive director of the Jewish
Welfare- Federation, and other
community leaders.

the Bnai Moshe school board, the

Living".

Beth El, Beth Tikvah, Bnai
Moshe, Downtown Synagogue,
Israel, Northwest Hebrew, Shaar
Hashomayim of Windsor and
Shaarey Zedek.
Tickets may be obtained from
Men's Clubs of participating
congregations or at the Bnai
Moshe office.

Beth Aaron to Welcome New
Members at Sunday Breakfast.

Cong. Beth Aaron will hold a
victory breakfast at 10 a.m.,
Sunday, at which 200 new mem-
bers will be honored and intro-
duced. Rabbi Benjamin H. Gor-
relick will give a brief messae
of welcome. New members will
learn of the synagogue's future
plans, and will be given active
roles in its activities.

The new term of modern
dance classes for girls '7 to 12
will open March 5, at the Davi-
son Jewish Center. June Golden
is instructor.

ARCHITECT'S DRAWING OF NEW BUILDING

Young Israel has just completed the purchase of land on
Wyoming and Seven Mile Rd., for another youth center. The build-
ing, being designed by Arnold A. Weitzman, will house the Center's
religious, cultural, social and recreational activities. It will include
an auditorium, gymnasium, club rooms, art studio, music room,
library and facilities for a catered affair for 600 people.
