Mr. and Mrs. Harold Edelson of Hartwell Ave., left on Tues-
day for a few weeks' visit in Miami Beach.
Mrs. Philip Brown of Santa Barbara Dr. returned on Tues-
day from Los Angeles, where she visited the last two months with
her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Betnun.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Harris of Webb Ave., have left for a
few weeks' stay in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Dunitz o_f Fairfield Ave., are vacationing in
Palm Springs, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gunsberg of Cortland Ave. left on Sunday
for Miami Beach where they plan to spend the remainder of the
winter.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Horwitz of Warrington Dr., have re-
turned from a 'wek's visit in New York.
Mrs. Norman J. Kann of Wildemere Ave., has left for Holly-
wood Beach, Fla., where she will spend a few weeks visiting with
her parents. s-
, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Korman and family of Wildemere Ave.,
have been spending some weeks in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Saul Benyas of San Juan Dr. have returned
from St. Joseph, Mich., where they spent a week at White Sulphur
Inn.
Jack Axelrod of Fairfield Ave., left on Thursday for a visit in
California.
Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Brodie, of Chicago Blvd., and Mrs. Nathan
Simons, of Strathcona Dr., will leave Monday on the New Amster-
dam for a cruise of the West Indies. Before returning to Detroit,
Mrs. Brodie will visit members of her family in Philadelphia and
Atlantic City.
Mr. and Mrs. Sid Wall of Boston Blvd. are vacationing in
Miami Beach.
David Anbender of Elmhurst Ave. is vacationing in Miami
Beach.
_Cantor and Mrs. A. A. Rosenfeld of 2663 Glendale will spend
the rest of the winter in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rotter of Cherrylawn Ave. have returned
from a West Indies and South American cruise.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Natow of Hartwell Ave. have left for an
extended visit in San Antonio, Tex., to attend the golden wedding
anniversary celebration of his sister, formerly of Detroit. After
the golden wedding celebration they will leave for a visit in
Mexico.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kroska and son, Alan Harris, have
moved to their new home on Center Ave., Bay City, Mich.
Honoring their daughter, Joanne Kay Lichtenstein, on her
graduation from Wayne University, Mr. and. Mrs. Sam Lichten-
stein, of Wisconsin Ave., entertained 40 of her friends at a party
Feb. 3, and held a reception for relatives and friends on Feb. 11.
Out-of-town guests included Rabbi and Mrs. Moses Goldman, of
Cleveland; Mr. and Mrs. Kalman Baer, of Toledo; and Mr. and
Mrs. Harry A. Heller and daughters, of Flint.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Schreiber have left for Tucson, Ariz.,
where they will visit with their son and daughter-in-law, Ray-
mond and Marcella Schreiber. A farewell party was given them
by their children and grandchildren before they left. The Schrei-
bers will stay at the Hotel Westerner in Tucson.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lax, formerly of Greenlawn Ave., have
moved to 301 B. Hickory Lane, East Lansing, Mich., where Mr.
Lax is completing studies- for a bachelor's degree in agricultural
education.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace R. Rosner (Marilyn Novograd), formerly
of W. Outer Dr., are now residing in their new home at 17709 War-
wick Rd.
Reuben Silver, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Silver, of 16219
Normandy, will appear in the leading role of the University of
Connecticut's production, "Born Yesterday." Reuben is doing
graduate work at the University and has appeared in numerous
school plays. His wife, the former Dorothy Greenbaum, also study-
ing at Connecticut, has been in a number of prOductions.

Purim Carnival, with Professional
Air, Among Young Israel Activities

On March 24, the young adults
of Young Israel will present
their 4th annual Purim Carnival
at their Center on Dexter Blvd.
The entire building will be de-
voted to varied activities, each
to be manned by trained per-
sonnel.
Young Israel is being assisted
by a professional carnival man.
Numerous booths in line with
the spirit of the holiday, a re-
freshment stand, entertainers
and several surprise features will
spark the affair.
Harold Platt is carnival chair-
man, assisted by Dr. and Mrs.

Penfil, Mrs. Seymour Ribiat, Je-
rome W. Kelman, Louis Harris,

The Institute of Jewish Studies
will present Leo Pfeffer, asso-
ciate general counsel of the
American Jewish Congress and
authority in the field of church-
state relationship at a public as-
sembly at 8:30 p.m., March 6,
at the Center.
Pfeffer win appear under the
auspices of the Jewish Com-
munity Council. The evening's
program will be conducted joint-
ly by the Institute and the
Women's League of Young Is-
rael. Pfeffer will discuss "Ten-
sions in Church-State . Rela-
tions."

MISS SHEILA MILLMAN

At a recent family dinner, an-
nouncement was made of the
engagement of Sheila Millman,
daughter of Mrs. Ann Millman,
of Calvert Ave., and the late
Harry J. Millman, to Hughes L.
Potiker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Al-
bert Potiker, of Monica Ave.
Miss Millman is a graduate of
the University of Michigan. Po-
tiker is a graduate of Wayne
University, where he was affili-
ated with Alpha Epsilon Pi. He
now attends Wayne University's
Law School.
The couple plans a • May 6
wedding.

Miss Cashman Lists
Tours to Israel in
Time for Passover

Rhea E. Cashman of the
World-Wide Travel Bureau an-
nounces that a specially-con-
ducted tour to Israel is prepared
to take a number of Detroiters.
Miss Cashman stated that in-
formation will be offered to ap-
plicants calling for folders at
WO. 2-3368 regarding the sail-
ing of the Queen Mary on
March 30, with provisions for
arrival of travelers in Israel in
time for PassOver .
Announcement also is made
by Miss Cashman that the
Steamer Atlantic will sail from
New York City on March 24 and
will arrive with its passengers
in Haifa on April 19.
Also, the LaGuardia will sail
on March 21, arriving in Haifa
on April 5.

The art department, under
Mrs. David Werbe, has begun
spring activities. Sessions for
youngsters are held every Thurs-
day from 4 to 5:45 p.m. and Sun-
day morning from 10:30 a.m. to
12 noon. Adult classes are held
Thursday evenings from 8 to
10 p.m.
The choral group, together
with the recently formed dra-
matic group, is beginning re-
hearsals for the annual cantata
to be presented at the 28th an-
niversary dinner, scheduled for
June 17.

minimum age is 14.
