Bnai Moshe Plays Host
To Men's Club Dinner

With Cong. Bnai Moshe as
h o s t, the Inter congregational
Men's Club will hold their annu-
al get-together dinner at 7 p.m.,
March 8, in the social hall of the
synagogue, Rabbi David Aronson,
guest speaker, is past president
of the Rabbinical Assembly of
America, and is author of "The
Jewish Way of Life." He is
known as a scholar, brilliant
speaker and leader in the de-
velopment of American Judaism.
Participating in the program
will be the Men's clubs from
Congregations Beth Aaron, Beth
Abraham, Temple Beth El, Beth
Tikvah, Bnai David, Bnai Moshe,
Downtown Synagogue, Temple
Israel, Northwest Hebrew, Shaar
Hashomayim and Shaarey
Zedek.

Bnai Moshe Synagogue and the United Hebrew Schools en-
tered into an agreement for the opening of an afternoon. Hebrew
school at the new school building to be erected at Dexter and
Lawrence, adjacent to the Synagogue. The Unitec. Hebrew Schools
has accepted the invitation of the Bnai Moshe congregation to
conduct the daily classes far children except Sundays when the
Bnai Moshe Sunday School will occupy the quarters. Present at

Architect to Complete

Permanent Plans for New Review UHS Studies

Beth Aaron Synagogue has
hired Louis G. Redstone, Detroit
architect, to design its new
building, announce& Morris Lit-
yin, chairman of the building
plans committee. Permanent
plans are expected to be com-
pleted in a few weeks.
The plans include a syna-
gogue, auditorium able to hold
1200 to 1300 worshippers, a social
hall, classrooms and kitchen fa-
cilities to accommodate 500 peo-
ple. Dr. Marvin A. Last is presi-
dent of the congregation.
With the conclusion of the
membership campaign which
added 200 new members to the
congregation, Beth Aaron will
hold a victory breakfast on
March 4. The membership com-
mittee will be honored at this
time. Planning the affair are
Harry Green, Ben Drapkin, Mor-
ris Fenkell, Sidney Weinberg,
Avery Shapiro, Dave Gussin, Al
Steam, Leo Weingarden, Irwin
Levine and Sam Lankin.

Over 300 Trees to Be Planted
In Shetzer Forest by UHS

Tree planting by the pupils

ing Tu b'Shevat, was not only a
matter of collecting money to
purchase trees, but assumed the
form of well-organized lessons
about Israel. All branches of the-
United Hebrew Schools patrtici
pated in the project.
Altogether, over 300 trees will
be planted in the Shetzer For-
est. The work was supervised
and directed by J. M. Mathis,
who heads of the Keren Ami
project of the Schools.

The Parent-Teachers Organi-
zation of David W. Simons Heb-
rew School will meet at 8:30 p.m.
Thursday in the school auditor-
ium, 4000 Tuxedo. The evening
will be devoted to an interpreta-
tion and review of the curricu-
lum of the United Hebrew
Schools.
An Israel film, "The Great
Promise," will be shown. Mrs. H.
B. Isbee will explain the program
of the first grade and Abraham
Schachter of other classes. Par-
ents will also make plans and
preparations for the Purim Car-
nival, which will be held at the
school on March 25.
Mrs. H. Pudavick, president of
the PTO, and Mrs. Robert Hur-
witz, chairman of the arrange-
ments committee, announce that
they will award prizes for the
best costumes and masks pre-
pared by the children depicting
heroes of Jewish history.
A financial report will be pre-
sented by Mrs. C. Lieb, chair-
man of the annual party of the
PTO. Director of. the student
council, David Gottlieb, will re-
view the activities of the coun-
cil.

Minister to Address
NW Adult Study Group

Rev. Dr. Walton E. Cole, min-
ister of the First Congregation-
alist 'Church, will be guest
speaker at the Northwest Con-
gregation Adult Study. Institute
on Tuesday evening in its cur-
rent lecture series on "Psychia-
try and Religion." He will speak
on "Psychiatry and. Religion—A
Working Partnership."

banquet to be given in his honor

Rabbi Goldman, now spiritual
leader of congregations Shaarey
Zion and Adas Yeshurun, spon-
sors of the banquet, is a gradu-
ate of Zevihler Yeshiva in Voh-
lin, and served in the army
during World War II. He was
previously chief rabbi of Norway.
Cantor Nicholas Fenakel, of
Northwest Hebrew Cong., is in
charge of the musical program,
and Louis Rose will be toast-
master.

NEW YORK (APA)—One of
the first fliers to land at the
Navy's Floyd Bennett Field dur-
ing the early years of aviation
was officially retired from the
U.S. Navy with a military review
in his honor.

Bnai Moshe Religious School's
325 students will participate in
a mass demonstration at cere-
monies marking the beginning
of the construction of the Bnai
Moshe New School to be erected
on the lot adjacent to the pres-
ent building.
Clifford Miller, president of
the Junior Congregation, Elaine
Iczkovitz, president of the con-
secration class, and Jacqueline
Miller, representing the student
council of the school, will deliv-
er short talks in behalf of their
groups. Harry Siegel, in charge
of music, will lead in several
songs which will be rendered by
the Bnai Moshe Glee Club.
Walter Farber, director of the
Bnai Moshe school, will be in
charge of preparations for this
event.
Rabbi Moses Lehrman will de-
liver the principal address at
this ceremony in which the
United Hebrew Schools, a part-
ner in the school's construction,
will be represented.
