`Black Market' in Bar Mitzvahs
Feared If Training Is Prolonged
NEW YORK, (AJP) — Black

period for boys. The unani-
mously adopted resolution ruled
provided for the attendance at
congregational Sabbath services
of all Bar Mitzvah candidates
over a two year period before
qualifying for confirmation.
Dr. Eisenstein, while favoring
heightened standards, noted
that setting standards too high
•— the requirement of Jewish
youngsters to attend daily He-
brew School classes over a long
period before confirmation, for
instance — could result in the
overnight growth of new "syna-
gogues" which might offer Bar
Mitzvah training in far less time
and with less stringent stand-
