the request of the government
of Israel. The first two struc-
tures of the Center will be a
40-bed hospital and a school of
nursing. •
Detroit Hadassah has assumed
financial responsibility for the
Orthopedic Department of the
hospital. Several substantial
contributions have already been
received, including an anonym-
ous gift of $1,200.
Provision has been made to
enable smaller givers to have a
share. in this enterprise, by pur-
chasing a square foot of space
in the Medical Center for $25.
To facilitate participation, as
many as five people may pur-
chase one square foot by each
paying $5. Appropriate certifi-
cates will be given. The signa-

tures of all who "buy" a square
foot of space will be micro-
filmed, enclosed in a silver re-
ceptacle in the foundation stone
of the building.
Many individuals may wish to
celebrate a happy event or to
honor the memory of departed
by using this as an instrument
of giving.
Mrs. Joseph Ehrlich and Mrs.
Win. Isenberg head the local
committee.
The urgency for a Medical
Center is stressed in a letter
from Israel's Ministry of Health,
of which Dr. Sheba is the direc-
t& to the Hadassah National
Board.
