Our Two Current Projects:
Schlussei, Shetzer Forests
We are now in - the process of completing two new Forests
in Israel:
The Schlussel Forest, honoring the devoted services of the
former president of the:Jewish National Fund Council; and the
Shetzer Memorial Forest, in memory of the two noted Detroit
leaders, the distinguished Father-Son Teain—Isaac and Simon
Shetzer.
Mizrachi Organization of Detroit has undertaken the spon-
sorship of the Schlussel'Forest, and we. are happy to report a
heartening response from the entire community.
The Shetzer Memorial - Forest is sponsored by the Zionist
'
Organization of Detroit, Congregation Sha.arey Zedek and Hadas-
ah, and has the endorsement of the Zionist Council and ,the.
Jewish Community CounciL
Trees can be planted in these Forests by calling Mrs. Samuel
Krone, UN. 3-2310.

The What Where and How
Of the Jewish National Fund
,
The Jewish National Fund, established in 1901, is the in-
strumentality of the Zionist movement for a sound land policy
in Israel.
The JNF objectives as originally formulated are:
1. To acquire land in Israel, with voluntary gifts, to become
the property of the entire Jewish people.
2. To lease the land exclusively on hereditary. leasehold for
cultivation and building thereon.
3. To facilitate the settlement of working farmers.
4. To ensure the right use of the soil.
5. To combat speculation in land values.
6. Reafforestation of the -land to make it fruitful.
The major projects of the JNF are:
