Envisions Absorption Of

.

6,000,000 Jews By Israel

An Israel which can easily
absorb and support between
five and six million Jews was
envisioned by Dr. Granott, upon
his arrival from Jerusalem.
Dr. Granott said: "The na-
tional affin'ity between Israel
and the United States continues

Israel Food Parcel
Controls Are Lifted

Service for Israel announced
this week, through its Michigan
agent, that hereafter there will
be no limit on the number of
food parcels sent to individuals
in Israel. The abolition of Israel
Food Control clearance of indi-
vidual gift food parcels makes
it now possible to send as many
parcels to a single beneficiary as
a donor may desire. It further
makes it possible to radically
reduce the time required be-
tween placing the order by the
donor and delivery to the bene-
ficiary in Israel.
Previously, the Israel Food
Control Office required from five
to fifteen days to clear a parcel.
This delay has now been elim-
inated and donors may expect
their food parcels to reach their
designee in about ten days.
"Service for Israel" food parcels
may be 'obtained by visiting the
Zionist Office, 1031 Penobscot
Bldg., WO. 5-1484.

•ways, mainly evidenced in the
heartwarming spirit of coopera-
tion between the two democra-
cies in many fields of endeavor—
agricultural and cultural pur-
suits, trade, commerce, and a
common bond arising out of
similar ideals of justice. These
bonds of cooperation are creat-
ing ever-new and ever-stronger
ties between the two countries.
"Israel is now in the throes
of an agrarian revolution the
like of which -the world has
never seen. We have projects
afoot which will stagger the im-
agination, the irrigation of the
Negev, a reforestration program
— the turning of a once arid
wasteland into the Biblical
prophecy of a land of milt and
honey. When our program is
completed, the world will see a
new land capable of supporting
five to six million people." Dr.
Granott said he brought to this
country a blueprint for "a 10-
year program of agrarian re-
construction in Israel."
