Sixteen members of Israel
AZA Chapter 735 walked off
with trophies in basketball, int
tiividual and team bowling in
the Michigan region AZA con-
vention Dec. 24-28.
Israel Chapter had represent-

vention activities. In basketball

On Hadassah Parley
At Chapter Meeting

A meeting of all chapter and
group boards of Hadassah will
be held at 1:15 p.m., Wednesday,
at the Detroit Leland Hotel.
Mrs. Theodore Bargman, chap-
ter president, will report on the
Hadassah National Mid-Winter
Conference in New York, which
was also attended by Mrs. Carl
Schiller, regiohal president.
Plans are underway for the
opening of an Hadassah gift
shop, to provide further reve-
nue for its many projects. A
contribution of $1200 was made
anonymously towards the build-
ing of a new Hadassah Medical
Center in Israel, and was re--,
ceived by the Detroit Chapter,
which is helping support the
new hospital and medical school.
The Detroit Chapter is also
engaged in its annual minyan
month under the leadership of
co-chairmen, Mrs. Nathan Spe-
vakow: and Mrs. Leonard Birn-
dorf. Minyan is a function of
Youth Aliyah, to which Hadas-
sah is the American representa-
tive. Over 50,000 Jewish children
have been helped by this organ-
ization since its inception in
1934.

Maimon would come to the U. S.
in spite of his threatened resig-
nation from the Israel Cabinet.
He was to leave for France on
Tuesday, to proceed to the U. S.
from there. In the meantime
