their home Dec. 24, Mr. and Julius Ring, of Clements Ave.,
Mrs. Louis Kozin, of Lawrence was one of the members of the
Wayne University ping pong
team which won the Intercolle-
giate Table Tennis Champion-
ship at Syracuse University last
weekend.
HiS playing, along with that
of teammate Robert Short, who
both went undefeated in com-
petition, enabled Wayne to win
the championship and set a rec
ord in Wayne's first ping pong
tourney. It was the first time in
the tournament's 12 year history
any school has gone unbeaten
in play.
All four members of the team
were awarded individual tro-
phies and the championship two
foot trophy was given to the
school. Short, who won the best
player trophy, combined with
Ring to win the doubles compe-
tition.

Selfhelp Chapter to Hold
Annual Meeting at Center

The annual meeting of the
Detroit Chapter of Selfhelp will
be held at 2:30 p.m., Jan. 21, at
the Woodward Jewish Center. A
Constitution and by-laws for the
group will be introduced and ap-
proved at the meeting. Election
of officers will also be included
on the agenda.

S. Bloch, will host a blood bank
rally, to be held from 6 p.m. to
12 midnight, Wednesday, by the
entire membership of the Great-
er Detroit Bnai Brith Mens' and
Women's Council, at Parkside
Hall.
The Red Cross has cited the
Bnai Brith Blood Bank on many
"occasions for meritorious serv-
ice. Leo Polk heads the men's
blood bank section section and
Mrs. Boris Bronson, the women's.
Twenty-five percent of all
blood donated will go to the
United States Armed Forces in
Korea.
All Lodges and Chapters have
received the promise of the
general membership to turn out
in large numbers. The event
is expected to produce hundreds
of pints of blood.

Bnai Brith Anticipates
Big Blood Bank Return

Spurred by the world crisis
and the needs of their fellow
Jews in. other lands, the na-
tional board of the National
Women's Division of the United
Jewish Appeal will meet at the
Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New
York, Jan. 30 and 31, to map
the UJA's 1951 drive for worn-
en's divisions in communities all
over the United States. Mrs. S.
Alexander Brailove, chairman of
the Division, announced this
week. The Division has raised an
estimated $70,000.000 in the past
five years, Mrs. Brailove stated.
