At a recent dinner party at
their home, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Cong. Beth Abraham will in-
a.ugurate an annual series of
"Lectures on Judaism," at 8
p.m., Monday. Given by Rabbi
Israel Halpern, the lectures will
last for six consecutive weeks,
under the title "Dramatic High-
lights of Jewish History."
For his first lecture, Rabbi
Halpern will speak on "The
Downfall of the Jewish State in
70 C.E." Other programs to fol-
low include "The Spanish-Jew-
ish Story in the Tragic 14th
Century," "The Jew Achieves
Citizenship in Europe in 1791,"
"Twentieth Century Political
Zionism Begins in 1917," "Mass
Jewish Migration to the U.S. Be-
gins in 1882," and "The History
and Development of the Syna-
gogue."
