Masonic T e m p 1 e auditorium,
the list of contributors of $100
or over is beginning to swell.
InclUded among this week's con-
tributors are the Ben Klein's,
$250; Youth Education League,
$250; Wayne Steel and Supply
Co., $125; and the following at
$100, Samuel and Morris Beck-
erman, the Saul Gertzman's,
Mrs. Saul Keywell, Lion Steel

Zack.
Mr. and Mrs. David Iwrey of

their 25th wedding anniver-
sary-.
The JNF women's efforts have
been stimulated this week by a
manifesto that was issued by the
JNF world office in Jerusalem
urging increased activity for the
fund on the occasion of its 50th
anniversary. The manifesto
states in part:
"We remember those who, in
the years that followed, devel-
oped the Jewish National Fund
into a strong instrument of Zi-
ionism. In its ceaseless, mun-
dane day-to-day work, the Fund
brought, step by step, the an-
cient soil again into Jewish
hands and thus, to new life. On
JNF land, a generation grew up
that would not abandon their
estate, when the great test came,
and with it the freedom of Israel.
"Today we recall the anxie-
ties of the past and the struggle
which lies behind us; we are
grateful for what has been
achieved and proud of those who
achieved it—yet only the work
which' lies ahead will complete
our historic mission. There is no
task more noble than to free the
earth from the deadly grip of
-neglect, to transform the curse
of the waste into the blessing of
plenty. The Jewish National
Fund in its second fifty year
span will be the redeeming hand
to win back the soil for the till-
ers. The Jewish people the world
over will share in this undertak-
ing, for the Fund is, and re-
mains, their instrument."
