Duluth, Minn., where she spent 10 days visiting with friends.
Mary Brown has returned to her classes at Simmons • Col-
lege in Boston after spending the vacation period with her
mother, Mrs. S. Lambert Brown of the Lee Crest.
Mr. and Mrs. Ira Cohen of the Park Lane Apts. have left
for Cleveland where they plan to make their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Klein and their daughter, Susan, of
Chicago Blvd. and their sister, Miss Julia Klein of Whitmore Rd.,
have returned from Cleveland where they visited their uncle and
aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Klein, on the occasion of their 40th
wedding anniversary.
Joan Field will return to New York where she attends the
New York School of Design after spending the holiday vacation
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Field of Roslyn Rd.
Mrs. Israel Goldman and her two daughters, Anna Naomi
and Tobie Judith, of Baltimore, Md., are the guests for a week
of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Slomovitz
of Stoepel Ave. Her husband, Dr. Israel M. Goldman, is in Israel
on a UJA mission.
Mrs. Adolph Meyers of Webb Ave. left on Monday for Palm
Springs, Calif., where she will visit her son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Katzman.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Rattner and their children, Judy, Larry
and Richard, of Huntington Woods, and Mr. and Mrs. M. George
Wayburn and their son, Barry, also of Huntington Woods, have
returned from a visit in Miami Beach.
Mr. - and Mrs. Louis Modell and their daughter, Devera, of
Wildemere Ave., have returned from a visit in California.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Aston of Wildemere Ave. have returned
from a few weeks' stay in Miami Beach.
Mrs. J. Lerner of Israel, who has been the guest for the last
few months of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. J.
Winokur of Tuxedo Ave., has left for New York from where she
will sail shortly for home.
Susan Stamler has returned to Boston after spending the
last week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stamler of
Muirland Ave.
Benjamin Krell Sr., of Lawrence Ave. has .returned from
Miami Beach where he spent a week visiting his son, Alfred.
Miss Zelma Rosenthal has returned to Syracuse, N. Y., after
a visit with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Arc-hie
Barnett of Pontiac.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Purdy of Chicago Blvd. have returned

The variety event is sponsored

For Music Study Women
Betty Kowalsky, pianist, and
Reva Reatha Jackson, harpist,
will be presented in a program
of the Music Study Club of De-
troit at 2 p.m., Jan. 12 in- the
McGregor Library auditorium.
It is an exchange program• with
the Highland Park Music Club.

Albert Shapiro, senior detec-
tive inspector of the Detroit
Police Department, has been
appointed by President Victor
Bloomfield to head the newly
formed Civilian Defense Com-
mittee of the Greater Detroit
Bnai Brith Council.
T h r o u g h this Committee,
lodges will be contacted for the
purpose of registering Bnai
Brith members and their
friends to train as auxiliary
police in case of war emergency.
The Police Department is set-
ting up training courses which
will be arranged to meet the
convenience of the volunteen.

gown, with a Juliet headpiece
lined with seed pearls and a
fingertip veil of scalloped, illu-
sion net. She carried white or-
chids on a Bible.
After flying to Florida for a
two-week- honeymoon, the new-
