Observers Fined; Case to Go To Highest Court The Court of Appeals of New York State upheld, by unani 7 mous decision, the conviction of two New York City kosher meat dealers, fined $10 each for sell- ing on Sunday, in violation of a state law prohibiting certain sales on the Sabbath. The American Jewish Con- gress, which fought the case of the defendants, Sam Friedman and Sam ,Praska, both of the lower east side of New York, up from Special Sessions through the higher courts, said the case would be carried to the U.S. Supreme Court.
