Italy May Contribute To World ORT Funds -it ROME, (JTA)—The possibility that the Italian Government May extend financial assistance to contemplated ORT programs in this country was reported by Dr. Aron Syngalowski, executive committee chairman of World ORT Union, addressing a con- ference of all Jewish organiza- tions in Italy called to consider plans for the initiation of ORT projects in Rome, Venice, Leg- horn and other cities. At present, 1,162 Jewish youngsters in Italy are receiv- ing ORT training. Plans dis- cussed at the conference call for the launching of ORT pro- grams primarily in behalf of "indigent Jewish children in the ghettos of Rome,. Venice. Leg- horn and other cities." Jewish communities have expressed willingness to place their build- ings and other facilities at the disposal of ORT.
