Temple Beth El Holds Hanukah Parties in All Its Religious Classes Referring to the statement in the Purely Commentary column in last week's Jewish News, re- garding extra-curricular fund- raising efforts, I s a d o r e R. Cohen, president of Yeshivath Beth Yehudah, said this week: "Yeshivath Beth Yehudah re- ceived in 1948-49 and again in 1949-50 a subvention of $22,750 from the Jewish Welfare Feder- ation. This amounted to only 12% of our budget. The alloca- tion for the current fiscal year has not been determined yet. We have repeatedly asked for inclusion in the campaign on the basis of deficit financing, which would eliminate the need for individual solicitation. As matters stand, the sum we re- ceive from the Federation is not intended to cover our needs and does not place the Yeshivah in the kind of relationship which would eliminate our asking for funds from members and don- ors." Hanukah will be celebrated in the religious school of Temple Beth El Saturday and Sunday mornings.
