Sale of Israel Bonds Approved by the U. S. Morgenthau Leaves UJA; Schwartz Succeeds Monitor TEL AVIV, (JTA)—The United States Government has consented to the distribution of Israel bonds in America, it was announced by Finance Minister Eliezer Kaplan, upon his return from New York. Mr. Kaplan said that Henry Morgenthau, Jr., is resign- inc, as general chairman of the United Jewish Appeal and that Dr. Joseph Schwartz, European director of the J.D.C., will be appointed director of the UJA to succeed Henry Mon- tor. The Israel Finance Minister also said that he brought back from the United States two investment propositions, one dealing with chemical projects and the other with build- ing- projects. An assembly for Kaiser-Frazer vehicles manufactured in the United States will start operations next month on a site near Haifa. The bulk of the plant's production for 1951 has,,already been sold to Lebanon, it was learned. The plant will employ in its first stages up to 400 workers. It is expect- ed to turn out 20 cars daily. ATLANTIC CITY The 27th annual convention of Junior Hadassah, unanimously passed a resolution calling for the United States Government "to give the weight of its support" to the recent Swedish-Cana- dian - Netherlands proposal in the United Nations regarding Jerusalem.
