A Message .

To The Jewish Citizens of ichigan

.

The Jewish people of Michigan, as an organized community is constantly concerned

with the fight to preserve democratic principles and the American way of life. We recog-

nize that any beginning in the breakdown of democracy usually begins wiith compromise

and with the yielding of any one of our democratic principles. It is for this reason that we

are constantly concerned with the caliber and progress of our public institutions, and with

the character and qualifications of the people we choose as our leaders in government.

This message was personally prepared by a number of Jewish friends and associates

of Harry F. Kelly. We have worked and lived with Harry F. Kelly for upwards of twenty

years. During this time, we have learned to know, understand and appreciate his charac-

ter and the principles he lives by. Harry F. Kelly's views on the essentials of preserving

democracy and our American way of life from being undermined and destroyed by

subversive, un-American elements are our views.

• We are well aware of his splendid record as a public ser-

vant and of his principles of government for all the people.

• We are well acquainted with his liberal and well defined

programs for education, labor and public health and welfare.

• We know that for many years Harry F. Kelly has been

recognized nationally as well as in in Michigan for his fight against

the subversive elements that seek to destroy the American security

of all minority groups. The proof of this is found in the fact that

Communist leaders went out of their way to designate him as one

of their greatest enemies.

There is nothing more important to the Jewish Citizens of Michigan than the pre-

servation of these principles and we, his Jewish friends and associates have, therefore, un-

dertaken to write and convey, at our own expense, this message — to urge your support

for Harry F. Kelly on Tuesday, November 7.

WE INVITE YOU TO LISTEN TO MR, KELLY GIVE HIS VIEWS ON IMPORTANT COM-

MUNITY ISSUES—THIS SUNDAY, ON THE JEWISH HOUR—STATION'WJLII, AT 1:30 P.M.
