The first appearance in De-
troit of the eminent Polish pian-.
ist, JAKOB GIMPEL, will take
place tonight, at Music Hall.
An Afterglow will follow the
concert at Harmonie Club at
which time patrons may meet
the artist and enjoy a social
evening. This is one of two
events sponsored by the Ways
and Means Committee of the
Tuesday Musicale, Mrs. McKee
Robison, chairman. The concert
is a benefit for maintenance and
establishment of Music Rooms
in Veteran's Hospitals.

FIRST PIANO QUARTET,
which will appear in concert at
the Masonic Temple Monday
evening, Oct. 30, is composed of
Adam Garner, George Robert,
Frank Mittler and Edward Ed-
son. Each is a renowned musi-
cian in his own right and has
played and appeared as soloist
with most of the leading Euro-
pean symphony orchestras. It
was at the suggestion of and
under the inspiration and guid-
ance of Edwin Fadiman that
they first pooled their talents
into the FIRST PIANO QUAR-
TET.

LEONARD WARREN, leading
baritone of the Metropolitan
Opera Association, will be fea-
tured in a concert at the Ma-
sonic Auditorium on Wednesday
evening, Nov. 1. He has gained
fame in opera, in concert tours
and in radio programs.

WEINBERG - KOPPLE: At a
double-ring ceremony performed
by Rabbi B. Benedict Glazer of
Temple Beth El in the home of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mel-
vin Kopple of Parkside Ave. on
Sunday afternoon, Oct. 22, Miss
Babette Kopple was married to
Bernard Weinberg, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Simon Weinberg.
The bride, in an ivory satin
ballerina gown with matching
satin a n d seed-pearl-trimmed
crown and veil of illUsion, car-
ried a Bible with orchids and
stephanotis. She was attended
by two matrons of honor, her
aunt, Mrs. Harry Rothschild of
St. Paul, and her sister-in-law,
Mrs. I. Weinberg, and a flower-
girl, Judy Weinberg. Isadore
Weinberg served his brother as
best man.
After a reception and family
dinner, the young couple left on
a motor trip to Florida. Upon
their return. Mr. and Mrs.
Weinberg will reside at 2517
Rochester Ave.

Memory of Lee Gladstone

At the unveiling of a tomb-
stone in memory of Lee Glad-
stone at Beth Tefilo Emanuel
Cemetery on Oct. 8, Rabbi Sam-
uel Prero, Young Israel director,
announced that a grove of 1,000
trees was planted in Israel in
her memory. Rabbi Prero pre-
sented to the family a grove
certificate and stated that the
honor was made possible by con-
tribUtions from relatives and
friends.
