Congregational Activities

Beth Aaron Announces
Drive for 100 Members

Beth Aaron Synagogue has
announced the start of a month-
long membership campaign for
at least 100 Jewish families, who,
at the present time, are unafil-
iated with any other synagogue.
Harry Green has been appointed
chairman of the campaign.
At a meeting held at Green's
home, the aims of the member-
ship drive were stressed, and
plans were formulated to erect
a new synagogue adjacent to the
present site on Wyoming, be-
tween Curtis and Thatcher.
Albert Fenkell was appointed
co-chairman, and Louis Ellenson,
secretary, of the membership
committee, which includes Mor-
ton Benson, Julius Brass, Henry
_C. Shalt, Benjamin Drapkin,
Emil Fracter, Lawrence W.
Freedman, ' J. B. Greenbaum,
Morris Katz, Irwin Levine, Bern-
ard Panush, Sol Rubin, Dr. Al-
bert Schwartz, Max Silverman
and Leo Weingarten.
The campaign will end in Nov-
ember when new members will
be inducted at a special function,
at which a leader of the Con-
servative Movement from New
York will be guest speaker.

synagogue worship, will open
Sabbath services in the North-
west section of Detroit on Satur-
day, Oct. 28, at the Bagley
School, 8100 Curtis.
A committee in formation, in-
cluding Harry L. Blitz, Milton
Duchan, Arthur Gellman, SanT
