Mrs. Harry Shulman, who was with Mr. Shulman at the Rackham Me- morial, offered to try and hail a cab on the street . . . but even standing in the middle of the street waving her arms was to ' no avail . . . every one was filled due to the pouring rain . . . Finally an empty cab came by and stopped . . . The cabbie kept looking at Mrs. Sh,ulinan, who pleaded with him to take Mrs. Reckler to her destination ... as traffic on Warren stopped and horns blew with severe in- dignation . . • Next -morning, Mrs. Redder called Mrs. Shul- man. . . to tell her what the cabbie had said . . . that he was doing it as a special favor to Mrs. Shulman ... since it was out of his way and he happened to be enroute home after work- ing 12 hours . . . and wasn't allowed to pick up passengers on.. the way .. . "Mrs. Shulman didn't know me," said the cab' driver.
