Her trial was ordered by a magistrate who, after prelim- inary hearings over a period of several weeks, decided that there was enough evidence against the woman to warrant her be- ing tried. Among the various crimes of which she was accused by former concentration camp inmates now living in Israel was that she once ordered 800 women prisoners to kneel on a concrete floor for several hours. ADL Issues Appeal To Watch Solicitors Several persons in Detroit have been approached by a so- licitor for subscriptions to a magazine which allegedly does anti-defamation work. In mak- ing the solicitations a photo- static copy from Bnai Brith' is often exhibited to indicate that Bnai Brith approves of the magazine in question. ADL does not solicit funds ex- cept through the Joint Defense Appeal, which in turn receives its allocation from the Federa- tion. Anyone being approached to subscribe to a magazine which by implication represents itself as being a part of the Anti- Defamation League of Bnai Brith is urged to check immedi- ately with the ADL office WO. 2-9686 or the Jewish Communi- ty Council WO. 3-1657.
