NEW YORK — Publication of
16 program aids, designed to
help Jewish organizations in the
planning and organization of
literary programs during the
nationwide observance of Jewish
Book Month, Nov. 3 to Dec. 3,
has been announced by the Jew-
ish Book Council of America,
which is sponsored by the Na-
tional Jewish Welfare Board. In
issuing these materials the
Council• aims to stimulate inter-
est in and appreciation of Jew-
ish books and authors. Dr.
Mortimer J. Cohen, of Cong.
Beth Sholom, Philadelphia, is
Council president.
Among the new publications
of the Council are "Reading Cir-
cles for Women," "How to Pub-
licize Your Jewish Book Month
Programs," "Jewish Book Festi-
val," and volume nine of The
Jewish Book Annual for 1950-51
— a trilingual work containing
articles on the current Jewish
literary output, bibliographies
and short essays on Jewish
authors.
The Council is also making
available "Jewish Book Pro-
grams," containing suggested
activities; "Lecturers and Artists
for Jewish Book Month," listing
available lecturers and artists
who can be booked through the
JWB JeWish Center Lecture Bu-
reau; and materials for many
other activities, including dra-
matic groups and• recorded `chil-
dren's programs.
