Start Third Year
At Israel Institute
Samuel W. Platt, president of
Young Israel, announces that
the Young Israel Institute of
Jewish Studies will begin its
third year Oct. 25. The Institute
will be divided into two semes-
ters of ten sessions each.
Registration will be taken in
the Young Israel building daily,
Oct. 18 to 25. Classes will meet
every Wednesday, 8-9 and 9:30-
10:30 p. m. Guest lecturers will
speak on timely topics.
Rabbi Samuel H. Prero, direc-
tor of the InstitUte, will be as-
sisted by Rabbi Harold Mendlo-
witz of the University of Michi-
gan. Courses are - offered in
Jewish history and philosophy,
Hebrew, Bible, Talmud and so-
cial studies. Dr. Max Kapustin,
director of the Hillel Foundation
at Wayne University, will head
the department of history and
philosophy, and Rabbi Abraham
Zentman will direct the depart-
ment of Hebrew.

At a farewell party last Satur-
