He also will serve . - ------------------- as executive sec- retary of the Junior Division_ in • the annual Allied Jewis Campaign. Senor comes from Newark, " where he was associated since 1947 with the James Senor Essex County JewiSh Communi- ty Center. He served on the field faculty of Columbia University School of Social Work and was principal of Newark's largest Jewish Sunday school. He was previously assistant director of Camp Robin Hood, near New York. Senor spent three years with the Army Air Corps in World War II. He was dean of Renshaw" UniVersity, GI college in India, for 18 months. He was raised and educated in Cleveland and received his B. A. and .a master's degree in social work adminis- tration from Western Reserve University. He is married to the former Miriam Rosen, an artist. They have. a two-year-old daughter. Under his leadership, new major orks are plan- ned for the next Dan Frohman Halevy concert. Mr. Frohman is conductor of the Shaarey Zedek choir, Music Study Club Chorus, Workmen's Circle Chorus and the Cantors' Association Chorus. He is a leading baritone with the Verdi Opera Company and this sum- mer sang at Mexico City. The Halevy accompanist is Mrs. Bella Goldberg, who was associated with Halevy for 17 years. Planners' Institute conducted by the culture commission of the Jewish Community Council will be held Thursday evening, Sept. 28. Rabbi Morris Adler, chair- man of the commission of the Council will head the Institute. "To acquaint our constituent organizations with the resources and techniques available through the Council, as well as to discuss basic problems regarding pro- gramming, is the purpose of these annual Institutes", Rabbi Adler stated. Various media of program- ming, such as films, filmstrips, etc., will be displayed to the pro- gram chairmen of the constitu- ent organizations of the Coun- cil. The Institute is designed to assist affiliated organizations of the Council in presenting a varied series of programs to their members. A total of 675 programs were arranged through the office of the Council during the 1949-50 season.
