In. Tale About Ruth

Edward Murphy's "The Song
of the Cave: A Tale of Ruth and
Noemi," published by Bruce
Publishing Co., 400 N. Broadway,
Milwaukee 1, Wis., follows faith-
fully the Biblical story. But the
tale itself, as prologued and epi-
logued by Father Murphy, is in-
tended to emphasize that Ruth
was the . great-grandmother of
David and therefore was the
forebearer of the Messiah. This
is the Christological angle—to
emphasize that Jesus was the
descendant of Ruth.
The epilogue with the words:
"And in Mary's beauty, they
saw a Moabite maiden; in Jos-
eph's devotion, another Boaz;
and in the Child, the new life,
ending all woe, that once lay in.
old Noemi's arms."
