BOSTON, (JTA) — The first Jewish chapel in any New Eng- land hospital will be opened of- ficially when High Holiday serv- ices are held this year in the new chapel at the Boston City Hospital, with Rabbi David B. Alpert as chaplain. The chapel was built by the city of Boston in a newly con- structed unit and provides two large rooms, one for worship, and one a conference room which will include an art ex- hibit by Jewish artists, and a large library of books in Yid- dish, Hebrew and English for distribution among the patients. Some 200 Jews are serving on the medical staff or in other posts on the personnel of the hospital.
