CLEVELAND (JTA)—Two Jew-
ish composers have been com-
missioned by the Fanny Farkas
Music Fund of the Temple on
the Heights here to write new
musical settings for the High
Holidays liturgy. The composers,
Mark Silver and A. W. Binder,
are widely known for their Jew-
ish compositions. The Musical
Fund was set up to encourage
the composition of new liturgi-
cal works: Cantor Saul Meisels,
of the Temple on the Heights,
and Harry H. Stone, are co-
chairmen of the Fund.

pointment of Zemakh Hyman as
economic adviser to the Wash-
ington E m b a s s y, succeeding
Zemakh Vitkin who is returning
to Israel, was officially an-
nounced here. Announcement
was also made that Dr. Yaacov
Aharon Brin has been named
economic counsellor in London,
replacing E. F. Shinnar.

JERUSALEM, (JTA) — Israel's
contribution of medical supplies
for the United Nations forces in
Korea will be dispatched within
the next three or four weeks.
The Cabinet has instructed the
Ministry of Health to assemble
immediately all medical supplies
requested by the. UN which are
produced in Israel.
The United, Nations Interna-
t ion al Children's Emergency
Fund is spending $380,000 in Is-
rael this year to aid Israel chil-
dren, Dr. M. Mabileau, UNICEF
representative in this country,
told Education Minister Zalman
Shazar. Dr. Mabileau also in-
formed the Minister that the
last UNICEF conference had de-
cided to recommend to the
forthcoming UN General • As-
sembly that aid for children be
continued in the Far and Near
East, which would include Israel.
