Distorted Views of
Roosevelt and Jewry
A few quotations from Hugh
Allen's Roosevelt and the Will
of God" (published by Lifetime
Editions, 425 E. 24th St., New
York 10) will indicate the au-
thor's confusion in this off-tan-
gent book.
Here are some of the gems:
"According to newspaper accounts of
Washington night life, the princes have
done plenty of eating in the morning
during all the years since 1933. The king,
i.e., the individual referred to by dizzy
Eleanor as our `rulah,' was a child, among
other reasons, because he had to be
carried about in a wheel chair by his
guards during the whole wretched Wash-
ington sojourn. Woe, indeed, to thee, 0
land, with that jerk Hopkins directing
the destinies of this great nation in a
blue bathrobe from a bedroom in the
White House!"
:
Now — that's a gentleman's
language for you!
The chapter on Pegler makes
the claim that AI Smith 1 was
tricked into running for the
Presidency by Eleanor in order
to give her husband "his first
real chance:" Smith "sappily
agreed." Pegler played a role in
Roosevelt's election (so says this
curious book!) and now the
confused author holds it against
his pal and co-religionist Pegler.
A lot of things are said about
the Jews. Hugh Allen denies
that he is anti-Jewish: he
merely wants them to accept
Catholicism. He was not„pro-
Coughlin, he states, because -"I
have never seen or heard of a
single instance where he made
a proper priestly approach to
any problem," and then follows
so much confusion about
Coughlin, the Jews and politics
that there is a feeling that
Allen wants to take his readers
for a dizzy ride.
What's wrong with the world?
Read this from Allen's book:
Truman Given ZOA
Plaque for Israel Aid
WASHINGTON, (JTA) —Ben-
jamin G. Browdy, president of
the Zionist Organization of
America, presented a sterling
silver plaque to President Tru-
man for "his never-to-be-for-
gotten part in the founding of
Israel" and the prompt recogni-
tion by the U. S. of Israel -as a
member of the United Nations.
Brbwdy was accompanied to the
White House by Congressman
Abraham Multer, of Brooklyn.
After the plaque was pre-
sented to the President, Rep.
Multer told newsmen that Tru-
man expressed pleasure at re-
ceiving the trophy. He said the
President asked Browdy to pay
his respects to President Weiz-
mann of Israel. Truman noted
the current friction between Is-
rael and its Arab neighbors and
expressed the hope for speedy
settlement, Rep. Multer said.
JWB's Aid to Armed Forces
In the five years since Japan's
surrender on Aug. 14, 1945, and
the close of hostilities in the
Far East, the National Jewish
Welfare Board has distributed
to Jews in the American armed
forces throughout the world and
to hospitalized Jewish veterans
in this country 314,000 pounds
of kosher foodstuffs, 97,890
Bibles and prayer books, 138,211
different religious articles and
over 1,250,000 holiday greeting
cards, leaflets, calendars and
pamphlets on Jewish history.

Easy Credit Terms Mark Ford's Pact
"It is not the Oriental Schism nor the
Protestant Revolution, both drearily inef-
fectual affairs, which has held up the ,
establishment of God's Supernatural Plan
for order in the world, rather it is the
failure of the Jews to acknowledge Christ
the Lord as the Supernatural Messias. .."
Here you have the Revelation!
After 280 pages of text, there
is a one-page paste-in with
about 50 Errata. Therein lies
the book's major fault: the
number of pages should have
been reversed, the truth being
errata.

Details of the Ford Motor
Co.'s agreement with the Israel
Government for the manufac-
ture of Ford trucks in Israel are
_explained . in a letter from
Graeme Howard, Ford Motor
vice president, to Robert Nath-
an, economic director of the
Jewish Agency. Howard's letter
read, in part:
"We agreed to accept orders
from Israel for vehicles (already
built in the United States) up
to $7,000,000 on liberal credit
terms, amounting to 60 per cent
of the total purchase price,,ma-
turing over a three-year period.
To date (April 20, 1950), orders
have been placed on these terms
for some .1800 vehicles costing
approximately $4,500,000. Ship-
ments began in July (1949).
"On Dec. 5, 1949, we entered
into an agreement with Pales-
tine Automobile Corp., Ltd., with
respect to the establishment of
an assembly plant in -Israel for
the assembly of Ford trucks, In
this agreement, we agreed to
extend to that corporation a re-
volving credit of $1,000,000 cov-
ering 'their purchases from us of
truck components.
"In addition, we are furnish-
ing to the assembly operations,
Bombing Costs Arabs
Loss of Water Supply
JERUSALEM, (JTA) — Israel
retaliated for the Arab planting
of a landmine near Beit Jibrin
which killed five Israel soldiers
by refusing to supply water
from Israel to several Arab vil-
lages across the border in Trans-
jordan. territory. The men died
when the military car in which
they were traveling hit the
mine.
It is known that further
measures are contemplated by
the Israel government, which is
taking a very serious view of
the mining of the road by. Arab
"commandos"! from Transj or-
dan territory. It is understood
that the incident was the sub-
ject of a high-level discussion
at Israel Army headquarters.
at our expense, assistance and
advice in the preparation of the
layout for the assembly - plant
and the selection and purchase
of equipment,_ and are making
available the services of a tech_
nical adviser to assist in install-
ing the machinery and in com-
mencing production.
"Finally, the agreement pro-
vides for the truck assembly
operation to be conducted by
Israel Automotive Industries, a
separate corporation to be or-
ganized under - the laws of the
State of Israel. Dr. Lipschitz
(president of Palestine Automo-
tive Corp.) has been able to no-
tify the Israel authorities that
pledges of adequate - dollar capi-
tal for Israel Automotive Indus-
tries have been received from
American- investors.
"It_ is our hope and the basis
of our proposal that the long
term supply of the Israel truck
market will undoubtedly be
made largely through assembly
operations within Israel itself:"

BUENOS AIRES. (JTA) — A
statement condemning "Haint,"
the Yiddish-language Commun-

body of Argentina. The state-
ment took issue with articles at-
tacking Israel, the Zionist move-
ment and labelling the govern-

Ben Gurion a "servant of Anglo-
