NEY SALOMON, JR., a United
Jewish Appeal leader of St.
Louis, Mo., was named treasurer
of the Democratic National
Committee for the 1950 Congres-
sional campaign. Salomon has
served as chairman of the
trades and industry division of
the UJA in St. Louis. He is a
member of the board of direc-
tors of Temple Shaare Emeth,
on the national board of trus-
tees of the Jewish Consumptives
Relief Society of Denver, a trus-
tee of the Four Chaplains Me-
morial Fund, Inc., and a mem-
ber of Brandeis Lodge of Bnai
Brith. He formerly served as
executive assistant to the Post-
master General.

dent of the Greater Detroit Bnai Brith Council,

Theatre. Usher BERNARD FRIEDMAN holds

has arranged to accept absentee ballot regis-
trations until Sept. 7, at the Avalon, Astor,

Dexter, Joy and Oriole Theatres. The various
lodges will provide solicitors at these theatres
from 7 to 10:30 p.m. every day except Friday
evenings. Solicitors will be stationed in the
lobbies of the theatres, providing applications
and assisting the registrants in filling them
out, and wil turn in the applications to the
Election Commission.

Moselm Judges Okay
Marital Age Minimum

convention of Moslem judges
here approved a decision by
the Israel parliament setting
the minimum marital age
for girls at 17 and for boys
at 18. Moslem religious courts
will be empowered to annul
marriages of younger persons.
