It was the couple's 50th wedding anniversary, and their sons and daughters had gathered for the affair at Zack's. Mrs. Sosnick, 70, after enduring the pogroms in Poland with their five children, came to this country in 1919. Follow- ing the first World War, in the little town of Rublah, where they lived, . all the Jews were gathered together and taxed. Those who didn't pay were killed. Her brother, an uncle to Rabbi Isaac, Stollman, went to pray after hiding out for three days and was hung, wearing his tal- lith and tefillin with the ropes of the Sukkoh in which he prayed. The others escaped, walked to Pinsk, and finally got to Warsaw in a freight car. Mrs. Sosnick is president of Cong. Bnai Zion Auxiliary.
