Greenfield, president of the bu- reau. Greenfield revealed that "pow- erful quarters have tried to im- pose the racial status on Jews in the national census with attend- ant information on occupation and financial position." He add- ed that such data would be mis- used by hostile quarters to exag- gerate the economic position of the Jews. He said that a proposal had been made to draw a line of de- marcation in the religious census which is held in the seventh year of every decade between Jews who are affiliated with congre- gations and those who are not. - - THE JEWISH NEWS---1 1; Statistics Chief Urges Jewish Religious Status 0 Detroit Office 2971 Tuxedo TO. 5-1984 • Plant and Office: •• • TY 5-8400 8700 LINWOOD :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: • .:•-tomikeli&ikiwwwmimmesuso..411.11
