Detroit's Help for
2 Children's Homes

An appeal was made to De-
troit Jews this week by Rach-
mil Rozenblum, distinguished
French Zionist leader, to assist
in the upkeep of the two chil-
dren's homes sponsored by Se-
cour.s National Juif of France.
M. Rozenblum, who is the guest
here of the Ben Greenbaums
of 17400 Greenlawn, is. gen-
eral secretary of Secours
tional Juif, is a member of the
executive of the French Zionist
Organization and is a leader in
other French - Jewish move-
ments. He came to Detroit after
attending the ZOA convention
in Chicago.
Pointing out that the Jews of
France, who only four years ago
were helpless and penniless —
having just emerged from years
of oppression under the Nazis—
are unable to finance child res-
cue work from their own mea-
ger resources, M. Rozenblum
expretsed the hope that Detroit
and other communities will pro-
vide a part of the needed funds
for this work. He reported that
447 of the children cared for in
the homes sponsored by his or-
ganization already have been
settled in Kibutzim in Israel
and stated that great responsi-
bilities remain in caring for
hundreds of North African
youngsters who are homeless
and who must be trained in
France before being sent to the
Jewish state.
