The Detroit girls, both gradu-
ates of Central High School, will
enter the University of Michi-
gan in the fall.
They are among the 100 youth
leaders selected from all over
the country for leadership train-
ing • for the American Jewish
community.

New Jerusalem Mains
Augment Water Supply

JERUSALEM, (JTA)—As a re-
sult of the new water supply
system recently completed here,
water will now be distributed
every sixth day instead of every
seventh day, it • has been an-
nounced by Mayor Daniel Aus-
ter. In about two weeks water
distribution will be made every
fifth day and so on, until by the
end of August water will be
flowing freely all week long, the
Mayor added.

Jewish Community Council of
Vancouver has decided to bar
community publicity and mail-
ing facilities to any fund-rais-
ing affair sponsored by a Jew-
ish organization which has not
received the prior endorsement
of the Council.
This move was taken in an
effort to cut down the number
of fund-raising affairs being
run simultaneously by different
Jewish organizations. The Com-
munity Council had been oper-
ating a voluntary endorsement
bureau as a means of avoiding
conflicting dates, but too many
groups were not writing in for
date clearance.
