Rabbi Leon Frain, in his an-
nual report, summarized his 25
years in the rabbinate in De-
troit. He stated that the high-
est reward that has come to
him of all his labors was the
privilege he enjoyed of leading
Temple Israel to the path of
building a new synagogue.
Mr. LeVine urged the mem-
bers to accelerate their gifts to
assure the completion of the
Temple Israel building by Sept.
11, the eve of Rosh Hashanah.
Musical Tribute to Rabbi
The crowning event of the
meeting was the rendition by
the Sisterhood' Choral Group of
a composition whose rehearsal
had been kept a secret. It was a
musical composition by Karl W.
Haas to Anne Campbell's poem,
"In Twenty - Five Years — For
Rabbi Leon Fram." Anne Camp-
bell had published this poem in
the Detroit News in honor of
the 25th anniversary of Rabbi
Fram's arrival in Detroit.
The premier rendition of this
original musical composition by
Cantor Robert S. Tulman and
the Sisterhood Choir, accompa-
nied by Bella Goldberg, brought
a tremendous ovation to Rabbi
Fram.
