Hebrew Medical Journal
Inaugurates 23rd Year

The appearance of Volume 1,
1950, of Hebrew Medical Journal
(H a r o f e Haivri), inaugurates
the 23rd successful year -of its
publication under the editorship
of Moses Einhorn, M.D.
In the current number, a sym-
posium it presented on various
phases of disease and health in
Israel. Among the articles of
interest • are "Orthopedic Prob-
lems in Israel" by Dr. I. Pul-
vermacher, and "Fighting Deaf-
ness in Israel" by Dr. Ahron
Schwarzbart.
Of interest is the article by
Moshe Rabinowitz, managing
director of Kupat Holim in Tel
Aviv, discussing the various ac-
tivities of the Labor Health Ser-
vice in Israel. The basic prin-
ciple of Kupat Holim is cooper-
ative, assistance practiced
through a group of medical in-
stitutions which includes, among
others, clinics in cities and vil-
ages throughout the country.
Despite financial hardships
Kupat Holim noted a phenom-
enal growth. Beginning with
2,000 members in 1920, it now
numbers nearly 250,000 mem-
bers who, together with their
families, comprise more than
half of the population of Israel.
.It has 12 hospitals, eight san-
atoria and 550 clinics, .employ-
ing a personnel of 3600, of
which nearly 900 are physicians.
In the section on Bible and
Medicine, Dr. C. Genazzani dis-
cusses "Pathological Symptoms
caused by the Famine during
the Siege of Jerusalem by Ne-
buchadnezzar, King of Babylon."

brew Medical Journal, 983 Park

Kosher Frankfurters
Provide Good Eating

During the delightful summer
days ahead, housewives will be
spending less and less time in
hot, stuffy kitchens and more
enjoyable hours • in the wonder-
ful out-of-doors. But when meal-
time rolls around and the fami-
ly. arrives at the table sporting
man-sized appetite, that's when
menu-planning problems must
be solved regardless of the sea-
son.

A convenient and time-saving
solution is offered by the new
Zion Kosher Frozen Frankfur-
ters which are now being fea-
tured by most frozen food deal-
ers in this vicinity. Zion' Frank-
furters stay tucked away in your
refrigerator until you're ready
for them-and then it's just a
matter of a minute or two to
heat and serve these tasty
"franks" for everyone to enjoy.
Zion Frankfurters featured by
your neighborhood dealer - are
fresh-frozen at the peak of
goodness and they keep fresh
indefinitely. But most impor-
tant of all, you're assured of
finest quality because Zion
Frankfurters are all beef-gov-
ernment-inspected pure kosher
beef-slaughtered, koshered and
fresh-frozen under strictest rab-
binical supervision.
