neighborhood clubs will wind up
the season with a wiener roast
for parents and c h i Id r e n
Wednesday, June 14, at Palmer
Park. They will meet at the
picnic grove near the wading
pool at 4:30 p.m. In the event
of rain, the wiener roast will be
held the following day, Thurs-
day, June 15, at the same time
and place. , '
With the closing of the club
program for junior members,
the Dexter-Davison Branch is
preparing for its first day camp
season. Plans are under way to
complete the playground next
to the building in time for the
opening of camp on July 3.
In addition to playground ac-
tivities the camp program will
include swimming (at the
Woodward Center), story-tell-
ing, arts and crafts, dramatics,
dancing, picnics, trips, Sabbath
programs and other projects.
Mrs. Jean Gore will serve as
director; with Gene Jaffe • as
head counselor. Henry Bern-
stein is in Charge of arts and
crafts. The counseling .staff in-
cludes T e d Goldberg, Esther'
Saslove, Eli Lifschultz, Dorothy
Marsh, Leah Michlin and Gloria
Moscowitz.

now being taken for children
between the ages of six and 12
who live in the Dexter-Da,vison

Women Meet June 19
To Form Brandeis Body

Plans will be discussed, at this
event, for, formulation of a De-
troit chapter of the National
Women's Committee of Bran-
deis University, of which 42
local groups are now active.
Mrs. Zemon has just returned
from Boston, where she attend-
ed the women's committee con-
ference and the university con-
vocation exercises.

pating in the Brandeis project

Golden Anniversary '

The 20 Jewish families of St.
Thomas, Ontario, will gather
Sunday, June 11 at the town's
Grand Central . Hotel, to observe
the Golden Wedding Anniver-
sary of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Shep-
herd.
This is the first such anniver-
sary to be marked in the tiny
Jewish community, and the
Shepherds will have gathered
about them three sons, five
daughters, their in-laws, - nine
grandchildren and orie great-
grandson. •
The Shepherds are the par-
ents of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice
Shepherd of 2533 Calvert, De-
