Dr. Alwyn V. Freeman has returned by plane to Rio de Janeiro,
where he is attending the Conference of the Organization of
American States, representing the United States government on
the Inter-American Juridicial Gpmmittee.
Dr. and Mrs. Bernard Rose, accompanied by their daughter,
Mrs. Ludwig Strass and Miss Joyce Lane, leave today for Admiral
Farragut Naval Academy, Pine Beach, N. J., to attend the gradu-
ation of their son, Richard L. Rose, on June 6. A few days will be
spent in New York before they return home.
Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Levin of Strathcona Dr. are spending
a fortnight in Ellsworth, Mich.
- Mr. and Mrs. Melville Welt of Balmoral Dr. have returned from
New York where they visited with members of their family.
Maurice Enggass of Cumberland Way has returned from a
few weeks' tour of Europe.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lowell have returned to their home in
Chicago after a few days' visit as guests of her brother-in-law and
sister, Mr. and Mrs. Leo I. Franklin of Muirland Ave.
Mrs. Janet Salsten of New York has been visiting with her
brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin M. Rosenthal, Jr.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold N. Brodie of Oak Dr. have returned from
Winnetka, Ill., where they spent a few days visiting with her
brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lilienfeld.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Rubenstein and daughter, Anne, of Ohio
Ave. have motored to St. Petersburg, Fla., to attend the gradua-
tion of their son and brother from Farragut Naval Academy.
• Mrs. David Werbe is spending a week in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Marks and their son, Lee, of West Outer
Dr. have returned from a few days' visit in Oscoda, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Zemon of Roslyn Rd. have returned from
a week's stay in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Simons of LaSalle Ave. are spending 10
days in Atlantic City.
Mr. and Mrs. Israel Himelhoch of the Whittier have returned
from a five weeks' visit in Europe.

Agenda for 2-Day
Convention Here

The Department of Michigan
Jewish War Veterans and Ladies
Auxiliary announce the follow-
ing program for the two-day
convention, June 3-4 at the Me-
morial Home, which 500 JWV
members are expected to attend.
Saturday, June 3, services at
9 a. m. at Cong. Shaarey Zedek
will be dedicated to the JWV by
Rabbi Morris Adler, department
chaplain.
At 2 p. m. a symposium on
housing, veterans service, reha-
bilitation and other veteran af-
fairs Will be held at the Me-
morial Home. Committee - re-
ports will be given at 8 p.m.,
followed by open house for all
JWV members at 10, with danc-
ing and refreshments.
At 9 a. m. Sunday, June 4, reg-
istration, final reports of the
rules committee, credentials and
resolutions will be handled.
• The convention will close with
dinner at 7 p. m. in the Fla-
mingo Room of the Detroiter
Hotel, with • Gov. G. . Mennen
Williams and Mayor Cobo as
guests, and featuring installa-
tion of the newly elected officers.
The Ladies Auxiliary will fol-
low this same schedule. Bernard
