Tonight to Honor Dr. A. M. Hershman

An invitation is extended to

the late Friday evening service
today at the Shaarey Zedek in
honor of the 70th birthday of
Dr. A. M. Hershman, rabbi eme-
ritus of the congregation.
Dr. A. A. Neuman, honorary
rabbi of Congregation Mikveh
Israel of Philadelphia, president
of Dropsie College and a noted
scholar and author, will be the
guest speaker.
The guest.. speaker, Dr. Neu-
man, who was ordained by the
Jewish Theological Seminary
which awarded him his DHL de-
gree in 1914, also was honored
with a DHL degree by the Uni-

He is the first American rabbi
