dinner of Young Israell-tof De-
troit, announces that a capacity
attendance is expected for the
Sunday evening banquet, May
28. The dinner is the organiza-
tion's major affair of the year.
There will be no major speak-
er, only brief addresses by the
chairman Morris H. Berris, and
Rabbi Samuel H. Prero, rabbi
and director.

Plan June 4 Picnic

Pupils of the Jewish Folk
Schbols, kindergarten and the
afternoon class, with their par-
ents and teachers will meet in
Lola Valley Park at 10 a.m. Sun-
day, June 4.
A program of singing, story-
telling and games and recrea-
tional activities is arranged
Under the supervision of the
teachers. Refreshments will be
served to the children.
In case of rain, the picnic will
be held in the Labor Zionist In-
stitute, 13722 Linwood. Friends
and members of the school
board and Labor Zionist move-

The marriage of Estelle Blum-
enthal, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph M. Berman of Buena
Vista Ave., to Howard H. Sha-
piro of Los Angeles, took place
Sunday, April 30, at the Wilshire
Hotel. Rabbi Leon Fram offici-
ated. A dinner followed the cere-
mony.
The bride was attended by
her sister-in-law, Lenore Blu-
menthal. The brother of the
bride, Seymour Blumenthal,
served as best man.
Pre-nuptials honoring the bride
were given by Lenore Blumen-
thal, Ruth Olen, Sylvia Berman,
Jeannette Serlin and Ruth Ber-
man.
The couple honeymooned in
Chicago and Palm Springs. They
now reside in Los Angeles.
