Forty additional volunteers were turned away, due to lack of facilities, but each pledged to donate individually at the Red Cross headquarters this week. Bnai Brith now holds the sec- ond highest record in voluntary blood donations in the city. Leo Polk, honored last fall during the United Foundation drive, as the ."one-man blood bank," set a national record for individual donations by contrib- uting his 65th pint at the May 2 rally. Polk began giving blood in 1941. The contributions will be stored at the Red Cross and are available to anyone in the community. Louis Marshall Lodge was host group for the rally, which was sponsored by the Greater Detroit Bnai Brith Council.
