Concert May 7

The annual concert of the
Workmen's Circle Kindergarten
will be held at J.1 a.m. Sunday,
May 7, at the W. C. Center. The
children will present a program
of Yiddish songs and recitations,
playlets and dances. Al!. parents
and their friends are invited.
The PTA of the Workmen's
Circl School and Kindergarten
will meet Wednesday, May 10,
8:30 p.m., at the Workmen's
Circle Center.
Margueritte Bedrich, health
educator for the Detroit Board
of Health, will discuss "Sex Edu-
cation." A movie on "Human
Reproduction" will be shown,
The State • Social Welfare
Board has issued a license to the
Workmen's Circle Kindergarten,
which will now operate under
the supervision of the State
Board of Health. Registration for
the new term starting in Sep-
tember, is now in progress. For

Mrs. Z. Katznelson, head nurse
of Neveh-On General TB Hospi-
tal at Bnei Brak, Israel, arrived
in Michigan last week for a
three-month stay.
Niece of Ben Schurgin and
Reva Yabrov of Detroit and
Morris Yabrov of Saginaw, Mrs.
Katznelson is temporarily visit-
ing in Saginaw and will come
here next week as the guest of
her uncles and aunts and of Mr.
and Mrs. William Hordes of Cal-
vert Ave.
Mrs. Katznelson, who came to
Israel from Bobruisk in 1925,
was active in the hospitals of
the Jewish settlements for 25
years. During her stay here she

Petoskey. Auxiliary members,
through dues collections, provide
landscaping and fruit-bearing
trees, additional hospital equip-
ment as the need arises, replace-
ments of kitchen dishes and
utensils, bolts of gay material
to keep hands busy sewing dra-
peries for individual rooms and
lounges, and assistance in build-
ing a corridor connecting the
annex with the main building.

Bernard Isaacs Honored

Bernard Isaacs, superintend-
ent of . the . United Hebrew
Schools, was honored on April
26 by- the Women's Auxiliary 'of
the United Hebrew Schools hon-
oring the publication, last year,
of his book of short stories. Sev-
eral of the stories were read in
English translation from the
Hebrew during the program.
The meeting, held at the Rose
Sittig Cahen Bldg., served also
to honor Mr. Issacs on the occa-
sion of his completion of more
than 30 years of service with
the Hebrew schools. His 30th
anniversary of service in Detroit
and the appearance of his He-
brew book were honored jointly
at a dinner on March 5, 1949.

time in The Jewish News,
