ute $500 to Celebral Palsy, Inc.,
and 500 to the Detroit Ortho-
pedic Clinic. Mrs. David
Mattes was appointed to the
board of directors of the Celebral
Palsy Society. The Infant's Ser-
vice Group's annual husband
and wife dinner dance will be
held Suaday, April 30, at the
Lee Plaza Hotel. Mrs. Sam
Rosenberg and Mrs. Alfred Ack-
erman are co-chairmen.

Bound for Israel

Given Jewish Society

NEW YORK—Thirty tons of
toys for immigrant children of
Israel left Philadelphia aboard
the S.S. Akko, newest addition
to Israel's Merchant Marine, ac-
cording to the Jewish Agency for
Palestine.
The shipment is the last of a
series collected from the chil-
dren of the United States
through the American Legion's
"Tide of Toys" drive. Nearly 3,-
000,000 toys have already been
distributed among the children
of Europe.

NEW YORK, (JTA)—The Jew-
ish Restitution Successor Organ-
ization announced that a num-
ber of paintings, drawings, and
prints whose owners either died
heirless or are untraceable have
been turned over to it by the oc-
cupation authorities in the U.S.
Zone of Germany.
The objects are now in t h e
United States; a number. of them
will be sent to Israel in the near
future, and the remainder will be
stored at the Jewish Museum.

Convention on Genocide, with
certain "understandings," is
expected before the Senate ad-
journs in July.
One of the "understandings,"

Relations Subdommittee says
that the U. S. Government con-
