NEW YORK—The American Association of English-
Jewish Newspapers closed its seventh annual convention at

hailing the second anniversary of Israel's independence as
the prelude to a happier future for the Jewish people. The
convention also adopted a resolution denouncing the resurg-
ence of Nazism and anti-Semitism in Germany as a threat to
