Jerusalem Proclaimed
Defacto Israel Capital

JERUSALEM- (JTA) -The Is-
rael Government decided to con-
vert Jerusalem into its capital
"not only on a de jure basis but
also de facto," Premier David
Ben Gurion declared in the
Knesset. He added that the
government's decision to move
its offices and the Knesset to
Jerusalem was done for practical
reasons.
Replying to Herut criticism of
the military censorship system,
the Premier said that the sys-
tem was being kept to prevent
the disclosure of military mat-
ters which might . endanger •he-
security of the state. He said
that any censor who was found
to be using his position to "tam-
per with political opinions" was
liable to dismissal.
