Betty Shetzer Engaged
To Martin J. Frank

Rabbi and Mrs. Jacob Hoberman of 3244 Monterey Ave will
have an open house Sunday, April 16, from 4 to 10 p.m., in honor
of moving into their own home. Relatives and friends are invited.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest C. Armstrong and daughters, Pamela Fae
and Sandra Jane, of 19165 Santa Barbara, are spending the Pass-
over holiday with Mr. Armstrong's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Friedman of Ironwood, Mich.
Gladys Lancet of 3359 Cortland returned on the H.M.S. Queen
Elizabeth after a two-month visit in Scotland, England and Ireland.
Pre-nuptial showers and parties for the former Flora Smaltz,
who was married to Louis Schwartz, March 26, were given by
Sherry > pstein, Rae Morganroth, Tobie Miller, Mrs. Felix Rosen-
wach, Mrs. Dave Schwartz, Shirley Schwartz, Mrs. M. Waldman,
Ruth Weinberg, Mrs. J. Abramson, Mrs:Jack Green, Mrs. Seymour
Grundy and Mrs. Sam Klater.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Goldman of Canterbury Road are guests

at the Hotel Martinique in Miami Beach for several weeks.
After an extended Carribean cruise, Mrs. Isaac Gilbert has re-
turned to her home on W. Boston Blvd.
Mrs. Jack Rothberg of Chicago Blvd. is vacationing in Miami
Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Lewis of Birmingham have returned
from their vacation in Clearwater, Fla.
Herbert. Aronsson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Aronsson of
Chicago Blvd. spent his spring vacation at the home of his parents
in Detroit. He is a student at Babson Institute in Wellesley Park,
Mass.

After having spent the winter season in --Miami Beach, Mrs.
John Immerman has returned to her home on Gloucester Driv.e.
Mr. and Mrs. Mortimer Meyers of Suffolk Drive have returned
to Detroit from a vacation in Palm Beach, where they were guests
at Whitehall.
The Fred Ginsburgs of Chicago Blvd.. have returned from a
42-day cruise to the Orient.
Spending a month on Normandy Isle, Miami Beach, are the
George Golantys and their children of Picadilly Ave.
Mrs. Max Baffin of the Hotel Sheraton has returned to Detroit
from an extended stay in Palm Beach, Fla.

Third Seder Night

Lachowitcher Aid Society is
holding its fourth annual Third
Seder Night, at 9 p.m. Tuesday,

Hall, Linwood at Blaine.

Elect Council Executive
Board, Officers, at
Dexter Center April 27

At the delegates' assembly of
the Jewish Community Council
on April 27 at the Dexter Branch
of the Jewish Community Cen-
ter, , nominations will be pre-
sented for vacancies on the
Community Council's executive
board and for all officers.
Dr. Shmarya Kleinman, presi-
dent of the Council, announced
the appointment of the follow
ing nominating committee: Mor-
ris Lieberman, chairman; Jo-
seph Bernstein, Lawrence Crohn,
Dr.'Lawrence Yaffa, David I. Ro-
sin, Mrs. Maurice Klein, Meyer
Schneider.
Constituent organizations of
the Council are advised that ad-
ditional nominations may be
made from the floor -by accred-
ited delegates of organizations,
and candidates for all offices,
according to the Council consti-
tution, must themselves be or-
ganizational delegates. The final
report and elections will be held
May 18.

`Home Auxiliary Plans
`Know Your Hebrew
School' Evening Slated 25th-Year Celebration

The Council of the Parent-
Teacher Organizations of the
United Hebrew Schools of De-
troit is sponsoring a "Get to
Know Your Hebrew School" eve-
ning, next Wednesday, at 8 p.m.
at the Rose Sittig Cohen audi-
torium.
The program will consist of
illustrated interpretations
of school curriculum, the kin-
dergarten work, children's Sat-
urday morning services, the
Keren Ami project, music and
art in the „schools.
The following staff members
will participate: Philip Caplan,
Yaffa Epstein, Moe Kesner, Mrs.
Bert Kriechman, M. J. Mathis,
Blossom Neuschatz, Alexander
Roberg, Sara Selesny. Artcraft
of the children in the class-
room and in the club will be
exhibited. A social hour will fol-
low.
The Council of the Parent-
Teacher organizations is a cen-
tral body representing the Par-
en-Teacher organizations of all
UHS branches. Mrs. J. Caplan
is president of the Council.

J. Frank, son of Mrs. M. Nathan-
iel Frank of Chicago Blvd. and
the late Dr. Frank, it" is an-
nounced by the bride - elect's
mother.
Both Miss Shetzer and Mr.
Frank are students at the Uni-
versity of Michigan, where *the
bridegroom - elect is affiliated
with Kappa Nu and Phi Delta
Epsilon fraternities.
A June wedding ,is planned.
