\ Interfaith Diners
To Hear Jurist

Judge John V. Br e n n e n,
Wayne Circuit Court jurist, will
be the Knights of Columbus'
guest speaker at the ninth an-
nual Interfraternal Dinner, at
Shaarey Zedek, Thursday eve-
ning, April 13, according to Ab-
raham Satovsky, general chair-
man of the event.
Judge Brennen will address
the Masons, Knights of Colum-
bus and Bnai Brith members,
who jointly sponsor the dinner
under the auspices of the De-
troit Round Table.
The men of Bnai Brith are
working under the chairman-
ship of Louis Rosenzweig. Serv-
ing on the publicity committee
are: Manuel Hollander, Morris
Shillman, Philip Slomovitz,
\ David I. Rosen, Alfred A. May,
Alilbert Sosin and Harold Fine-
good.
Larry Weinberg, chairman of
the ticket committee, is assisted
by: Nathan Trivax, Dr. Seymour
Gelb, Samuel G. Bank, Nathan
Sahn, Henry Wald, Joseph Shek-
ter and Louis Gladstone. The
speakers' committee is headed
by Louis E. Barden and includes
Alfred W. Keats and Alfred H.
Bounin.
The reception committee has
as co-chairmen Irving Simon
and Saul Sessler. Members are:
Lawrence Yaffa, Victor Bloom-
field, Maxwell M. Lowe, Samuel
G. Shulman, Samuel W. Leib,
Sidney J. Karbel and :Isadore
Starr.
A number of tickets are avail-
able through sponsoring organi-
zations and the Detroit Round

Scout Troops

Edward Rosen, Boy Scout
chairman for the Department of
Michigan Jewish War Veterans,
has announced that Scout ac-
tivities are underway in the new
Jewish War Veterans Memorial
Home and that additional units
are being organized under JWV
sponsorship.
Scout troops are being spon-
1 sored by Lieutenant Raymond
Zussman Post and Charles and
Aaron Kogan Post. The Depart-
ment of Michigan directly spon-
sors a Senior Scout troop and
a Cub pack.
Another Cub pack for boys 8
to 11 is to be organized April
12. Parents of any boys who
wish to enroll are invited to at-
tend a meeting on that date at
the Memorial Home. Meetings
of the Boy Scout units are held
every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
at the Memorial Home and are
open to boys in the 11 to 14 age
group; the Senior Scouts, 14 to
18, meet every Monday at 8 p.m.

The four state resort associa-
tions have issued circular letters

This action stems from a De-
cember conference on resort bias
attended by representatives of
the Jewish Community Council,
the Anti-Defamation L e a g u e,

The Michigan State Tourist
Council has issued a warning to
the four Michigan Tourist As-
sociations, advising resort own_
ers that it is contrary to the
laws of the State of Michigan
to deny accommodations to Jews
or any other religious or racial
groups.
The Council made it clear that
subterfuges, such as advertiSe-
ments marked "we cater to
Gentile clientele" which occaL

some Michigan resort owners,
