I also wanted to see Tal Scha- char, the settlement in the Jeru- salem Corridor that was estab- lished in my name during my first visit to Israel in October, 1948. I found Israel a land of miracles. In the 14 months since I had last seen the country, it had made unbelievable progress. The scars of war are quickly disappearing. The countryside shines with green fields and settlements and everywhere you hear sounds of building and growth.
