Plans Fall Nuptials

Mrs. Lola Koenigsberg and daughter, Pauline, of Buena Vista
Ave., have returned from a few weeks' vacation in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Morry M. Fenton, of the Book-Cadillac Hotel,
left Friday, March 17, on an extended trip to California. They
plan on visiting Lake Arrowhead and Palm Springs.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis LaMed are leaving this week for a pro-
longed visit in Israel.
Following the Bar-Mitzvah at Temple Israel of Russell Barry
Schreiber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Schreiber and grandson
of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Schreiber, a reception was held at the
Hotel Statler, March 11. Among the out-of-town guests were Mr.
and Mrs. Mannie Smerling and Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Manilow,
Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Brenner, Mr. and Mrs. Irving
Schreiber, Cleveland; Mickey Herzog, New York; Mr. and Mrs.
Mannie Levanter, Toronto; Mr: and Mrs. Alvin Schreiber, Buffalo,
N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Alex Schreiber, Los Angeles; Mrs. Hazel
Marks, Grand Rapids, and Mr. and Mrs. Moe Stone, Mr. and Mrs.
Milton Kovinsky and Mr. and Mrs. Barney Cohen of Windsor.
Mrs. Harry Satovsky of W. Outer Dr. has returned from a
six-week visit in Los Angeles where she visited with family and
friends.
Mrs. Mildred Wilhelm of Ohio Ave. had as her guest her
mother-in-law, Mrs. Minnie Wilhelm of New York. While in the
city, the senior Mrs. Wilhelm was entertained by Mesdames' Art
Moss, Morris Moss, Max Wilhelm, Barney Levine and Harry Stone.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Brant and family of Santa Barbara left
Detroit March 20 to take up residence in Los Angeles. Mrs.
Brant's sister, Sally Elias of Boston Blvd., will spend a prolonged
winter vacation with them in California. Before their departure,
the Brants were entertained by family and friends.
The Misses Bertha and Rose Edith Lipsitz of 2715 Rochester
are leaving for Israel March 26 to visit their brother, Max D.
Lipsitz and family, at Beth Itzhak, Israel. They will visit the
continent before returning in June.
Mr. and Mrs. Abe A. Schmier of Sherbourne Road have re-
turned from a stay in Miami Beach.
Mickey Woolf is leaving for a two-week visit to his summer
resort in the Catskills, to prepare for the Decoration Day open-
ing.
Mrs. Samuel S. Aaron has returned from the veterans' affairs
executive meeting at the Bnai Brith conference in Washington;

Adolph Newstatter of 3041 W. Boston Blvd. will celebrate his
70th birthday March 31.
Mr. and Mrs. George Stutz of Huntington Woods have re-
turned from a fortnight's stay in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Abe J. Copeland of Parkside Ave. returned from
a month's trip through Mexico.
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Kelter of Cherrylawn Ave. left for
Surfside, Miami Beach, to be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Lewis of Detroit in their Florida winter home.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mayer of Pinehurst Ave. have returned
from a month's vacation in Passa Grille, Fla.
Mrs. S. Lauber of Cincinnati is the guest of her daughter
and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Levi of Argyle Crescent
Drive.

weeks in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Myron Steinberg of Webb Ave. have returned
from Hollywood, Fla.

trip to Central America and Guatamala.
Mr. and Mrs. Dan Krouse of Normandy Ave. are vacationing

where they are vacationing in Bel Aire.

Miss Mary Brown has returned to Detroit from Simmons Col-
lege in Boston to spend her spring vacation with her mother, Mrs.
Sally Lambert Brown, at the Lee Crest.

Home Relief to Hear
Rabbi Segal Lecture

Home Relief Society has plan-
ned a program to follow its
meeting at 12:30 p.m. Monday,
March 27, at the home of Mrs.
Samuel Mitchell, 17598 Park-

Novelist Opatoshu
To Speak Friday

A reception in honor of the
noted Jewish novelist, Joseph
Opatoshu, is being arranged by
the joint cultural committee of
the Labor Zionist Schools, the
Sholem Aleichem Institute and
the Workmen's Circle School at
9 p.m. Friday, March 24, at the
Workmen's Circle Center.
This celebration will mark the
40th anniversary of the novel-
ist's literary career.
Opatoshu will speak on "Sal-
vation"—the motif through the
two thousand years of diasporic
life.
