returned from a several weeks'
stay in Florida and Havana,
Cuba, announces that he will
bring to Detroit another New
York Yiddish stage success, Her-
man Yablokoff's "Papirosen"
("Cigarettes").
This play will be brought here
for only one performance on
Sunday evening, April 9, at Mu-
sic Hall. Yablokoff, who is
known to Yiddish-theater-goers
as "The Payatz" (The Clown),
will be assisted by the following
cast:
Bella Meisel, Jacob Zanger,
Anna T o b a c k, Feivush Finkel,
Zelda Kaplan, Sarah Filler,
Morris Kroner, Moshe Pavlosky,
Pinchus Levanda and Florence
Feinstein. A young boy who
has been introduced on the Yid-
dish stage also will be featured.
Fanny Wilensky, pianist, will
direct the orchestra.
Yablokoff, who has not played
here in several years, brings his
newest play to Detroit at the
popular request of his host of
admirers.
Tickets for "Pa.pirosen" will go
on sale this week at Metro Mu-
sic Shop, Borenstein Book Store,
Detroit Hebrew Book Store, and
will be available from Mr. Litt-
man at the Barium Hotel, WO.
2-5900.
Mr. Littman reports that in
Cuba he sponsored several
attractions, featuring Maurice
Schwartz and Yablokoff, and
succeeded in attracting overflow
audiences to the performances.
