Rho Pi P h i pharmaceutical
Fraternity, one of the largest
Jewish pharmacy fraternities in
the country, will bring its an-
nual convention to Detroit, Aug.
20 to 23.
Soine nine hundred druggists
and their families are expected
by the local groups of the fra-
ternity which are planning an
active program. The general
convention committee is dbm-
posed of the following local
drUggists: James Landsman,
William Bobrin, Louis Landeau,
Samuel Krone, Sidney Fogel,
Samuel Karp and Bernard Snei-
der.
Headquarters will be. in the
Hotel Statler.

"Pathways to Jewish Maturi-
ty" will be Rabbi Sidney Aksel-
rad's topic in his feature address
at the Model Seder of the Young
Adult Council. The third an-.
nual program is scheduled for
7:30 p.m. Sunday, March. 19,. at
the Woodward Jewish. Center.
The special Haggadah, bring-.
ing the Passover story and its
Meaning up to date from - the
standpoint of Jewish youth, has
been prepared by a Coundil
committee;. including Leonard
Baruch, Natalie Gaines, Evelyn
Stollman, , Merrill Stoller, Dr.
Herbert Kelman and Max
Chomsky.
Members of Young Israel and
of Temple Israel Youth will con-
duct the services. Dr: Samuel
Krohn will serve as leader. .
Fetival songs will be led by
Mrs. Bella Goldberg. Rhoda. Gel-
ler of Winds3r will be the guest-
soloist.
Invitations a n d reservation
cards have been sent to mem-
bers of all Young Adult Council
affiliated organizations.

Hi-Lighters Schedule
Rouge Dance March 25

The Hi-Lighters of the De-
partment of Parks and Recrea-
tion, are now holding weekly
open socials Wednesday eve-
nings at the Tireman Recreation
Center, 4756 Ivanhoe near
Grand River.
Dancing, television, and ping
pong are among the recreation-
al facilities available to young
adults, 21 to 35. A dance is
scheduled for Saturday evening,
March 25, at Rouge Recreation
House, Rouge Park.

'Its Fun to Be A Jew'
At Masada Meeting

Rabbi Jacob Segal of the
Northwest Hebrew Congrega-
tion, will speak on "It's Fun to
be a Jew." His talk will center
on disproving the fallacZ that
only trials and tribulations are
the lot of the Jew. •
Bud Shulman, program chair-
man, announced that a social
hour will follow with singing
and dancing.

Country Fling Is Theme

Of Career Unit Dance

"Sing and Swing at the Coun-
try Fling," is the theme of the
Career Group of National Coun-
cil of. Jewish Women's next coed
affair to be held Wednesday,
March 29, at the Jewish Corn-
munity Center on Woodward.
The program w ill include
square dancing led by Jim
Shulties, barbershop and com-
munity singing, and prizes for
the most authentic country garb.
The highlight of the evening
will be the presentation of a
$100 check by the Career Group
to the 12th St. Center for .a lathe
in the Center's arts and crafts
department.
The affair is open to paid up
members and male guests.

Oneg Shabbat at 8:30 p.m. Fri-
day, March 17. Yona Yoshpe of
Israel, in the U.S. to study med-
ical technology at Henry Ford
Hospital, will bring first-hand
information and pictures of Ha-
bimah and other groups in the
Israel _theater. Group singing of
Hebrew songs will follow.
The meeting has been plan-
ned by Tybie Schneider, educa-
tion committee chairman, and
will be at - the home of Jennie
Weiss, 3748 Wager near Dexter.
Refreshments will be served.
